“True success comes from growth, teamwork, and adding value to the lives of others while building a strong foundation for the future.”
My name is Thakkar Bahadur Karki (Prakash), and I come from a lower-class family in Myagdi district, Raghuganga Municipality, Bhagawati-2. Growing up, my family and I faced numerous challenges, from limited access to education to struggles for basic necessities like food and clothing.
Although my formal education is not strong in terms of certificates, my eagerness to learn has always driven me forward. In 2002, I moved to the UAE with the support of my father, who arranged my visa and became my greatest supporter. Upon arrival, I faced immense challenges in finding work. Eventually, through my father’s reference, I secured my first job as a general helper in a small company called Winner Chemical Industry, which specialized in cosmetics products similar to the ones I would later work with. The salary was AED 500 per month. The work was physically demanding, and the pay was minimal, but I viewed this opportunity as a stepping stone toward building a stable life.
At that time, the Gulf countries, particularly the UAE, were undergoing significant economic development, with investments in infrastructure, tourism, and business opportunities growing exponentially. Dubai, for example, was already becoming a global business hub with projects like the Burj Al Arab and other large-scale developments. Witnessing this rapid growth inspired me to dream bigger and seize opportunities for personal and professional growth.
Determined to grow, I enrolled in various classes to improve my language skills and deepen my understanding of the cosmetics industry. Each experience added to my knowledge and shaped my professional journey. I didn’t have a formal mentor, but I learned through observation, hard work, and constant self-improvement.
One of the biggest challenges I faced was navigating a non-supportive environment. Some people prioritized nationalism over helping others, and I often felt ignored simply because I wasn’t from the same background as them. Additionally, poor communication and a lack of responsiveness from employers and agencies made it difficult to get guidance or clarify work-related concerns. Yet, I persisted, adapting to the environment and finding my own way forward.
From the very first day, my dream was to become a business owner. Though I started with a low-paying job and faced many obstacles, I never lost sight of my goal. The thought of building something of my own and achieving financial independence kept me motivated every single day.
By 2009, after years of hard work, I became the General Manager of the same company where I had started as a laborer. I continued in that role until 2017, gaining valuable experience and industry insights. Meanwhile, in 2013, I took a bold step and started my own business as a part-time venture. As the business grew and received positive responses, I transitioned to running it full-time in 2017.
Today, we have over 100 staff in the UAE alone and more than 500 worldwide. We supply directly to over 40 countries, and our products are available in more than 70 countries globally. Our brands, Beauty Clinic, Ujooba, and Nisa, hold leading positions in multiple markets. Our focus remains on providing high-quality products, offering exceptional service, and developing strong teams.
A significant milestone in my journey was expanding the business to 26 countries with beauty and personal care products, including manufacturing and branding. This achievement wasn’t possible alone. I worked with dedicated teams who shared my vision and helped turn ideas into reality. Their hard work, expertise, and commitment played a crucial role in overcoming challenges and scaling the business globally.
However, my ambition doesn’t stop here. I believe in continuous growth, innovation, and setting new milestones. With strong teamwork and the right strategy, I am determined to take my business even further and create a lasting impact in the industry.

To those reading my story, I would like to say: never stop learning, and stay focused on your vision. Life’s challenges will test you, but perseverance and dedication are key. Whether you come from humble beginnings or a strong foundation, the journey is always about growth.
Remember, your growth is limited when you’re in a job, no matter your position. Real potential lies in transitioning from a job mindset to a business mindset. Start with what you have, no matter how small, and build steadily. Consistency, resilience, and passion are powerful tools that will help you overcome obstacles.
Don’t be afraid to take risks, but always prioritize quality, integrity, and customer satisfaction. Surround yourself with a strong team, as they are the backbone of any successful business.
Above all, remember that success is not just about personal achievement—it’s about empowering others, fostering collaboration, and creating win-win environments for everyone involved. Keep pushing forward, and always stay true to your values. True success comes from growth, teamwork, and adding value to the lives of others while building a strong foundation for the future.
