1. Purchase of Land: Land purchase rules depend on the emirate and buyer type (UAE nationals, GCC nationals, or expatriates). Key regulations include: 
   • Freehold Areas 
     • Who Can Buy: Expatriates, UAE nationals, and GCC nationals can purchase freehold property. 
     • Ownership Type: Full ownership with no time restrictions. 
     • Emirates Offering Freehold: Dubai: Freehold areas include Downtown Dubai, Dubai Marina, Palm Jumeirah, Jumeirah Lakes Towers, Sheikh Zayed Road (from the Trade Centre Roundabout to the Water Canal) and Al Jaddaf area.
     • Abu Dhabi: Designated areas like Saadiyat Island, Al Raha Beach, and Yas Island. 
     • Other Emirates: Limited freehold zones in Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, and Ajman. 
   • Leasehold Areas: Expatriates can lease land/property for up to 99 years. 
   • Musataha Agreements: Rights to use and develop land for up to 50 years, often renewable. 
   • Usufruct Rights: Right to use another’s property (up to 99 years) without structural changes. 
   • GCC Nationals: Can own freehold and leasehold property in most emirates. 
   • Special Zones: Free zones (e.g., DIFC, Masdar City) allow 100% foreign ownership with specific rules. 
   • Emirati-Owned Land: Reserved for UAE nationals, often for residential purposes. 
2. Invest in Publicly Listed Companies: (e.g., Salik, Dubai Insurance Co. PSC, Dubai Taxi Company PJSC, Parkin Company P.J.S.C.) Companies like Salik are publicly listed on Dubai’s stock exchange, the Dubai Financial Market (DFM). You can invest in such businesses by purchasing shares. 
   • Steps: 
     • Open a Trading Account:  
     • Register with a brokerage firm approved by the DFM. 
     • Obtain a National Investor Number (NIN) from the Dubai Central Securities Depository (CSD). 
     • Fund Your Account:  
     • Deposit funds into your trading account to start buying shares. 
     • Research and Buy Shares:  
     • Use the broker’s trading platform to monitor stocks like Salik and place buy/sell orders.
