Drone

The UAE has lifted its drone ban for individuals, allowing recreational use under specific regulations. All drones must be registered with the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and operated only in approved zones, which can be identified using the “My Drone Hub” app. Camera use is permitted within designated zones, provided privacy laws are respected. Operators must keep drones within their visual line of sight, fly only during daylight hours, and stay under a maximum altitude of 400 feet. Flying near airports, heliports, private property, or controlled areas is strictly prohibited. While the new rules apply federally, individual emirates may have additional regulations. Commercial drone operations require separate authorization.
